People want this

So there was a recent post on the Cressage Residents Association Group on Facebook, about the development of the Eagles pub.

In some of the replies it became apparent that several people had also thought about the possibility of turning the railway into a path. So last Friday a few of us got together to discuss the idea. Hopefully I’ll be able to make some progress now that we’re working together on it.

A slow start…

So far I’ve emailed Sustrans and the developers at Iron Bridge and Cross Houses… But… No replies so far. I’m not entirely sure how to get this idea off the ground. I think my next step is to email Shropshire county council and Telford and the Wrekin council. Fingers crossed I have better luck there.

So it’s begun…

Today starts the launch of my campaign to convert the disused Severn Valley railway into a cycle path, connecting Shrewsbury and Telford.

I believe that a traffic free connection between these two neighbouring cities will be a real asset to the surrounding area. Whats more is that the perfect place to create this already exists in the form of the Severn Valley railway.

Please get in touch if you have any ideas, suggestions or would like to help.
